I have over 20 years experience working in publishing – mostly as a journalist and editor – writing for, designing and publishing a variety of publications, books, magazines and promotional and campaigning material. These days I also work as a part-time lecturer teaching campaigning techniques and public relations (primarily using social media) to students at Middlesex University.

I’ve spent most of my working life in the voluntary sector, primarily for trades unions, in public relations, editorial and policy research roles.

I have a BSc in Communications & Information Studies from Brunel University, a Masters in Politics from Guildhall University (now London Metropolitan) and a PhD in Politics from Nottingham Trent University.

I have been married to Moira for far longer than she deserves (she was probably quite evil in a previous life) and we have a smart, funny and beautiful daughter.

I have published a number of short stories in a variety of publications and, like almost everyone else who has ever worked as a journalist, I’m working on a novel.
