I snatched the phone from the cradle.<\/p>\n
Brilliant,<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n Could have easily have been just another hack job<\/em>, she said, as if that\u2019 what she\u2019d been expecting.<\/p>\n But this! This had charm. This had elegance. This had <\/em>brio<\/em><\/strong>!<\/em><\/p>\n Brio?<\/em><\/p>\n I had to look that one up.<\/p>\n And not just on time, but a whole day early. I must really be turning over a new leaf<\/em>, she said, and we both had a good chuckle about that.<\/p>\n I took all the praise pretty well, I thought \u2013 given the circumstances. I tried to be modest, which was easy enough, and to reflect some of the credit back onto her enlightened editorship \u2013 which was harder.<\/p>\n Anyway, she finished, if I could keep writing stuff like this there\u2019d always be work for me as long as she was editor of Boom!<\/em><\/p>\n I have the magazine now.<\/p>\n She\u2019s really done credit to the article. Six spreads, beautifully illustrated and laid out.<\/p>\n And she\u2019s right the article is great. Insightful. Witty.
