To James Purnell and his cohort…

Very briefly.

You know what really pisses off ordinary members of the Labour Party? It’s having spent the best part of 20 years being told we mustn’t rock the boat, we mustn’t challenge the leadership, we must always be loyal, and we must never allow the press to allow us to appear split. Because divided parties are doomed. Aren’t they?

And then, after we made years of sacrifices waiting for you milksops to deliver, we get to spend the last three or four years watching one Blairite arsewipe after another publicly indulge their plotting, hissy-fits and whining.

Piss off, the lot of you, and don’t the door hit your arse on the way out.

    Oh come on!

If we go into the next election with Brown at the helm Labour will be destroyed, and Britain will suffer another decade of disastrous Tory government.

Something must be done, and done now, to get him out of Number 10.

Purnell did what had to be done. He’s a hero!

If I believed that Purnell & Blears were doing this for “the good of the party” I’d be right there cheering along with you. But the truth is this is the culmination of four years of Blairites plotting and moaning and destablising the party for the sake of their own bruised egos and – perhaps justified, perhaps not – long-held grudges against Brown and his people.

As for the next election? That was lost when the economy tanked – but who is going to deliver us a better result.
